After losing his job Oct. 30, Jason Ray, a resident of the East Side, is looking for a new direction in the workforce. “I have a lot of experience in industrial work and at warehouses,” he said Thursday.

The city of Youngstown received a two-part grant totaling $1 million to help combat crime for the South Side Revitalization Project. 

Community Legal Aid is offering free, public workshops this month to anyone who may need legal assistance or who has an interest in various legal topics. All programs are taught by attorneys. Some are by appointment or preregistration. Community Legal Aid events can be found at www.communitylegalaid.org/events.

YSUscape teamed up with the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation for their fourth annual Make a Difference Workday. 

 The Youngstown Foundation has awarded more than $922,000 to local organizations in the third quarter, including $232,611 in awards from the Hine Memorial Fund.
